Quick, Quicker, Quicklinks
Any resource that can be referenced by a link will eventually be referenced by a link. And with Raycast’s Quicklink feature, links get even more powerful.
Examples
Search Google Maps: https://www.google.com/maps/search/{place}
Send a message to a specific number on WhatsApp: https://web.whatsapp.com/send/?phone=+1234567890
Open Tailwind CSS Docs: https://tailwindcss.com/docs
Open a specific Slack channel: slack://channel?team={team}&id={channel}
Open the Downloads folder in Finder:
As you can see, Quicklinks are excellent for searching within apps or jumping to specific places in those apps. If you want more examples, check out Raycast’s Quicklink directory.
Browse with Raycast
Using Quicklinks with Raycast’s browser extension for Arc or Chrome, you can practically control your entire browsing experience:
Bookmarks: Access bookmarks directly via the extension command or set up Quicklinks as bookmarks.
Tabs: View, switch, and search through open tabs using the corresponding extension command.
History: Look up pages you’ve visited in the past using the corresponding extension command for history, just like with tabs.
Navigation: Open new tabs with Raycast’s fallback commands. Set your favorite search engine as the fallback or use the “open in browser” command to go directly to a URL.
What’s great about this setup is the focus it brings. You can browse distraction-free in full-screen mode without seeing open tabs or bookmarks cluttering the screen.
Advanced Features with Arc
Set up Air Traffic Control in Arc to open links in your preferred space. One handy command is CMD + Shift + C to copy the current URL instantly.
If that resonates with you, I’d love to hear about your favorite Quicklinks.
